A sunny horse ride raises £6,000

Our staff team were delighted to attend a horse riding event that took place in July to help raise funds for the Brain & Spine Foundation.
The event, organized by Brain & Spine Foundation Ambassador Alison, invited members of the equestrian community to enjoy a variety of horse riding routes at beautiful Absolom Farm, on the edge of the National Trust’s Ightam Mote. Riding through the lavender fields in bloom, participants were also able to experience stunning views over the Sevenoaks area.
With help from supporters and local businesses, the event raised a fantastic £6,000 through a raffle and entry fees to the event.
Alison says: “I have benefitted hugely from the support of the Brain and Spine Foundation for my complex spinal conditions. I wanted to support in return and the horse community are well aware of the risk to our brains and spine our sport brings. I am overwhelmed by the way this fundraiser has been embraced”
Lauren Ellis, Communications & Content Manager at the Brain & Spine Foundation, says: “We are incredibly grateful to Alison and the equestrian community in Kent for supporting such a fantastic event to help us continue to fund our professional neuro services. The money raised from this event will help the charity continue to support people living with neurological conditions – and their families – through our free Helpline, peer support groups and expert health information.”
