It's an Honour

Our Community Ambassador and London Marathon 2020 Team captain has been recognised by the Queen in her New Year’s Honours list.

David Philips is now an MBE, awarded for his charity work and services to the community.

David was first introduced to the Brain and Spine Foundation via an advert for London Marathon runners in the Telegraph newspaper. Now in his 22nd year of support for us, David will run his 501st marathon.

David has raised a colossal amount of money for the Brain and Spine Foundation, over £135,000. This has been achieved through concerts, local business support and by David’s honesty box for donations of his home grown vegetables.

Congratulations to David, his MBE is well deserved. David’s dedication and support of the Brain and Spine Foundation is exceptional. Trustees and staff members alike are very proud of David’s achievements and his story is inspirational and motivational to many of our supporters. So much so, he was the perfect choice to be our 2020 London Marathon team captain. Thank you David for your outstanding contribution.
