Young couples affected by brain or spinal injury wanted for new documentary
17 August 2011
Are you part of a young couple affected by a serious brain or spinal injury or illness? If so, the makers of a new documentary would like to hear from you.
Dragonfly (the makers of 'One Born Every Minute' and the 'The Family') are currently developing a new documentary series for BBC3 about love in the face of extraordinary circumstances.
This observational series will follow young couples who have made a sincere commitment to each other, but whose relationships are being put to the test by a life changing crisis or serious problem such as a sudden illness or accident, that has changed the dynamic of their relationship.
The series will take a sensitive look at the kinds of challenges the couples face as they attempt to make a go of things - from adapting to the changes to their envisioned life together, managing the expectations of friends and families, to adjusting plans for their future.
"We are very keen in one episode to explore the massive impact that a serious brain or spinal condition can have on relationships," says Hannah Runham, from the production company Dragonfly.
"At this stage it would be great just to talk to young couples (under 30) about their experiences, without any commitment for them to take part in the documentary."
