Working in Westminster
27 October 2008
The Brain and Spine Foundation recently attended a meeting of the Brain Tumour All Party Parliamentary Group in Westminster to support the development of a Brain Tumour Register.
At the moment there is no central register that holds information about the diagnosis, treatment, long term effects and condition progression of patients with a brain tumour. As there is an increase of 5% a year in newly diagnosed patients, there is a real need for a resource which can identify trends and best practice.
It is an important piece of work which will significantly improve treatment and diagnosis, in the long term for people with brain tumour. We will keep you informed on the campaign to introduce a Register.
