Subdural haematoma and intracranial hypotension: Sandra tells her story

08 August 2011

In a new patient perspective article, Sandra tells her story - which began 14 months ago with symptoms including unbearable headaches, neck pain, hearing problems, extreme tiredness and vomiting.

A scan showed she had a subdural haematoma (a collection of blood between the skull and the brain), but after surgery the headaches remained. It turned out that cerebrospinal fluid was leaking from her spinal column, with the resulting low pressure (intracranial hypotension) causing her headaches.

After a blood patch procedure to fix the leak, Sandra is feeling much better and is starting to get her life back - read her story to find out more.
