Stigma following acquired brain injury: take part in a survey
07 September 2011
- Are you aged 18 or over?
- Have you had a brain injury in the past?
If you have answered "yes" to both questions, you are invited to take part in a survey about stigma and acquired brain injury (ABI).
Sometimes people who suffer from illness or injury worry that people hold negative views about them because of their illness or injury. The survey is part of research looking at whether people who have a brain injury believe other people hold negative views about them because of their brain injury. The research is also looking at whether these beliefs change depending on whether people are in work or not, and how this affects how they feel about themselves.
"This will help us better understand how such beliefs can affect people, and give us an idea of how to help people better," says Andrea Ralph, the trainee clinical psychologist who has set up the survey.
