Spinal cord injury: new website highlights the condition and help available
20 May 2011
Today, Friday 20th May, is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day, and to raise awareness, a new website has been created to highlight the effects of spinal cord injury and the help available to those affected.
It is estimated that 3 people per day in the UK become spinal cord injured - that's one every 8 hours. Highlighting this statistic, a website, Every Eight Hours, contains case studies, a spinal injury quiz, and the opportunity to get involved in spinal cord injury awareness campaigns.
A group of spinal injury charities are behind the Eight Hours website: Aspire, Back Up, the Spinal Injuries Association, Spinal Injuries Scotland and Spinal Research.
