Parkinson’s disease patients or carers wanted for paid user research in London or Manchester

16 November 2011

Are you a patient with Parkinson's disease, or do you care for someone who has this condition? A company is developing a new version of a medical device for delivering drug treatment for Parkinson's disease, and as part of the development process, they are looking for patients and carers to test the device and make sure it is easy to use.

What you will be required to do

You will first be shown how to use the medical device by the facilitator leading the study, and then be asked to try using the device yourself. All devices will be models, and will not require any type of injection to be performed. There will also be no drugs of any kind used during the session. Once you have used the device, you will be asked some questions on your experience using it. The facilitator will video you using the device, and record what you say about it, but this will remain strictly confidential in line with the Data Protection Act. Sessions take about 45 minutes.

When and where it is

The sessions will be run in West London (Hammersmith) and near to Manchester (Stockport) the week of the 12th December.

How much you will be paid

Patients or carers will be paid £60, plus travel expenses if required. Note that only one person can take part in the session at a time, so in the case of carers accompanying patients, only the patient will be paid.
