International Nurses' Day: celebrating the work of nurses around the world

12 May 2011

Today, 12 May, is International Nurses' Day, marking and celebrating the vital role of nurses all around the world.

International Nurses' Day is celebrated on this day every year, marking the day that Florence Nightingale was born in 1820.

If you want to show your appreciation for a nurse, you can post a message on the Royal College of Nursing's Nurses' Day website.

Or if a Brain and Spine Helpline nurse has helped you, we'd love to hear about it. You can fill in our 1 minute Helpline survey to let us know about your experience.
