Information Access Project

08 July 2005

The Brain and Spine Foundation is conducting a project to support the implementation of the recently published National Service Framework (NSF) for Long Term Conditions. The first Quality Requirement of the NSF focuses on providing person-centred care for people with neurological conditions and particularly on providing high quality information.

This project, funded by the Department of Health, aims to produce a (web based) toolkit for health and social care professionals to support them to better provide information to meet the needs of people with neurological conditions. Access to information was consistently raised as an issue by people with neurological conditions during the various consultations undertaken as part of the development of the NSF.

As part of the development of the information toolkit we are consulting with health and social care professionals about current arrangements for provision of information to patients, the problems experienced in providing information and exploring what would be useful to provide in a toolkit. We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to download the Information Impact Questionnaire.pdf (119 kb) [pdf], complete it and send it in to the freepost address provided on the document.
