Highs and lows of the Tour de France
10 March 2009
Last summer, Nick Stockley decided to cycle the route of the Tour de France to raise funds for the Brain and Spine Foundation. His is a story of (literal) highs and lows..."When I told people that in the summer I would ride the Tour de France they thought it was a joke," says Nick.
"I wish at that stage I had known what they knew - that the Tour isn't something you can just do, and that no matter if you are a sportsman or not, long distance stage riding is something that requires a LOT of training. So by April, I thought I should get started! What made this even more difficult was fitting it in around my University Finals, but none the less it was something that I just had to try."
Nick's story is part of a new section on the Get Involved section of this website, containing fundraising stories that will inspire and motivate.
