Highs and lows of the Tour de France

10 March 2009

Tour de France 2 Last summer, Nick Stockley decided to cycle the route of the Tour de France to raise funds for the Brain and Spine Foundation. His is a story of (literal) highs and lows...

"When I told people that in the summer I would ride the Tour de France they thought it was a joke," says Nick.

"I wish at that stage I had known what they knew - that the Tour isn't something you can just do, and that no matter if you are a sportsman or not, long distance stage riding is something that requires a LOT of training. So by April, I thought I should get started! What made this even more difficult was fitting it in around my University Finals, but none the less it was something that I just had to try."

Nick's story is part of a new section on the Get Involved section of this website, containing fundraising stories that will inspire and motivate.
