Julia SomervilleMore than 150 supporters, service users, professional partners and friends were present to hear how brain conditions had affected the lives of Julia and Michael and to hear founder trustee Peter Hamlyn recall a few highlights the Foundation’s first 15 years.

While proud of the achievements since 1992 Peter expressed concern that the investment in neurological and neurosurgical services was still inadequate in many parts of the UK. Much more could be done by the health and social care providers and of course by voluntary sector organisations such as the Brain and Spine Foundation.

Peter Hamlyn speaking at the Foundation's 15th anniversary at the Houses of ParliamentPeter paid tribute to the thousands of individual supporters and organisations such as the Daily Telegraph who had raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to help maintain and improve the services provided for people affected by conditions of the Brain and Spine,
