AVM and subarachnoid haemorrhage: read Erin's story

21 June 2011

One year ago, in June 2010, Erin underwent surgery to remove a large AVM (arteriovenous malformation) in her brain. During the surgery she suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage.

"When I came round I found that I had no movement on my left side at all," says Erin.

"It was a scary, confusing and hugely difficult time."

Now, one year on, Erin tells her story, describing the rehabilitation she has undergone and how life is different now.
