Are you a carer? Then you're part of the UK's secret service

05 March 2009

You may have visited this website because you care for someone affected by a neurological condition. If so, you're not alone - 3 in 5 people will be carers at some point in their lives.

There are six million carers in the UK providing unpaid care to loved ones who are ill, frail or disabled. Carers Week 2009, 8-14 June, will highlight the incredible contribution that carers make, as part of "the UK's secret service".

What you can do

If you would like to take part in Carers Week, or find out more about it, you can visit the website at www.carersweek.org. There are lots of things you can do to raise awareness, such as writing to your MP or talking to your local newspaper or radio station.

  • Do you care for someone affected by a brain or spine condition? Would you use an online discussion forum to talk to others in a similar position? The Brain and Spine Foundation would like to hear your views. Please contact info@brainandspine.org.uk to tell us what you think.
