An investigation of mechanisms of human brain tumour invasion and the design of anti-invasive strategies

Belfast Brain Tumour Project
Department of Oncology, Queen’s University, Belfast
October 1998-September 2001
Malignant brain tumours have the capacity to spread throughout the brain and often do not respond to treatment using surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. This project aims to improve the understanding of how the malignant cells manage to invade healthy brain tissue and find ways of preventing the spread.
