What you can get involved in

Headstrong – All about brain tumours
If you, or your child, would like to look at information about brain tumours designed for children, go to Headstrong: All about brain tumours. This is also available as a magazine or information file free of charge from the Helpline on 0808 808 1000

If you, or your child, have already used this resource we’d like to know what you think, please contact us.

Headstrong – Friends
Children with brain and spine conditions have told us that they value having others who have had similar experiences to talk to. They have also told us very clearly that they want to have fun whilst they are doing this! This led us to hold our first fun day in June 2005 (link to fun day bulletin article).

Fun days present an opportunity to meet other young people and families who have similar experiences in a supportive environment at the same time as having fun. They also allow the Foundation to find out what you and your children would like us to do in the future.

We will be holding another fun day in the near future, for more information please contact us.

Headstrong – All about brain injury
Headstrong - All about brain injury is looking at developing information and support specifically for young people with acquired brain injuries (ABI). This project is funded by the National Lottery and will create information for young people with a brain injury. It will be for those aged 13 to 19 but may be useful for those who are younger or older. We are developing information in consultation with the young people who will use it. We are talking to young people with ABI to find out:

  • what issues are relevant to them;
  • what kind of information they want and need; and
  • how they want to have this information – by text, website, helpline or another way?

We consult young people with ABI by inviting them to a fun day or coming to meet them (and a parent or guardian) at a place that is convenient for you both. If your child would like to be involved, please contact us
