Kilimanjaro Trek
"Kilimanjaro was the toughest climb I have ever done," says Paul Adams, who recently reached the peak of the highest mountain in Africa, in aid of the Brain and Spine Foundation.
Clacton Triathlon reaches £50,000 target
Inspired by friends with various brain and spine conditions, the Clacton Triathlon has raised funds exclusively for the Brain and Spine Foundation since its inception in 1999 and in 2010 the total funds raised reached £50,000!
Solicitors stray from the path, but get there in the end
David Chennells, a young qualified solicitor, suffered a major bleed on the brain which left him with severe neurological damage - and the Brain and Spine Foundation was there to support him.
With David very much in their minds, his law firm, Attwaters, recently organised a sponsored 25 mile walk to raise money for the Foundation.
Team Sparkle: Running in memory of Shazzie
34-year-old Sharon Waller (Guy) died suddenly on 19 May 2009 following a subarachnoid haemorrhage. In her memory, 36 friends and family members ran the Hastings Half Marathon as part of Team Sparkle on 21st March 2010.
Race to New York
31-year-old Stuart Lee was born with Hydrocephalus, more commonly known as fluid on the brain. Having undergone 17 brain operations since then, and living with a brain cyst the size of a tennis ball, Stuart ran the New York Marathon in 2009 - and what's more, he organised a 3470 mile combined cycle ride at his local gym!
