To operate or not??
« on: July 11, 2017, 09:05:19 am »
Hi, I found out in February that I have an aneurysm, discovered incidentally in 2013, and reported on in 2014 when I had another MRI for other reasons. It was overlooked, I wasn't told about it. My endocrinologist found it in my notes! Anyway, a further scan has shown that it has grown and now falls into the operable category, incidentally they discovered 2 more smaller aneurysms. I have been offered the coiling process but am hesitant because of the immediate risk which equates to the same risk in leaving it alone for ten years. I really don't know what to do! Can anyone advise me or share their own experiences?

Dear forum user motherbonce,

Thank you for using our forum. I hope someone will come here and share their aneurysm experience and their thoughts on coiling.

Perhaps in the meantime you might want to talk to our Helpline nurses who can talk through your options with you? http://www.brainandspine.org.uk/helpline-contact-details

With best wishes,
