Angela Collett, Helpline Manager
After training to become a Registered Nurse and a Neuroscience Nurse at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, Angela worked as a specialist nurse in the UK and Australia. Since 1987 Angela has been involved in patient care, advice and support as a Ward Sister in London and a Ward Manager in Stoke-on-Trent. Angela has been a member of the Royal College of Nursing since 1980 and is also a member of the British Association of Neurological and Neurosurgical Nurses.
In 1998 Angela Collett was appointed as Helpline Co-ordinator for the Brain and Spine Helpline. Responsibilities include the supervision and training of helpline staff, auditing calls to the helpline and updating training and policy manuals. Angela is currently involved in writing a research paper on the need for specialist helplines. She has also given a number of talks to external organisations on the work of the Brain and Spine Foundation and the Helpline.
