Veronica Martin, Head of Fundraising and Development

Veronica Martin, Events Coordinator Veronica’s official title is Events Co-ordinator, but it’s more about relationship management as she focuses more specifically on developing relationships with event participants so that they are able to support the Brain and Spine Foundation in a way that suits them.

Her role includes developing and implementing a strategy for maximising income from event participants, identifying new sources of income from events and building relationships with existing participants and their sponsors.

Prior to joining the charity sector in 1999, Veronica spent 15 years in advertising as an Advertising Executive for Time Magazine and Advertising Manager for the Voice Newspaper.

Veronica’s career as a fundraiser spans over eight years, during which she has been the Fundraising and Marketing Officer for the National Association of Clubs for Young People 1999-2001, Fundraising Manager for the Brain and Spine Foundation 2001-2004 (she was pivotal in organising the Give it up for Michael Watson Marathon appeal which raised a £¼ million in six months), Head of Fundraising and Communications for Drake Music and now Part time Head of Relationships and Major Investors at the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Veronica's qualifications include a BA Hons in Advertising and Marketing, and she is currently studying for a MSc Charity Fundraising and Marketing. She is Chair of Generating Genius.
