Robert Maclean

Robert Maclean graduated in English from Lincoln College Oxford, and then trained as a teacher. He taught English at Forest School and Latymer Upper School until he decided in 1970 to become a solicitor.

After qualification, Robert ran a busy high street practice in Fulham for eleven years, and then joined central London practice Darley Cumberland in 1987. He remained as a partner with the firm following its amalgamation with Ellis Peirs Young and Jackson in 1989, and was head of the Property Department from 1991 to 1999. Robert became a consultant in 2000, and continues to work with the firm under its new name of Cumberland Ellis LLP.

Robert acts for a number of charities, including the Brain and Spine Foundation. He has been a trustee of the Dockland Settlements (East End based charity serving the needs of the local community) for which he still acts, and is currently a trustee of the Nat Merriman Trust (promotion of arts among young people).
