Nicholas Durlacher CBE
Nicholas Durlacher was appointed Chairman of the Balancing & Settlement Code Panel and Chairman of ELEXON Limited (the Balancing & Settlement Code Company) in 2000. He had previously served as a special adviser to the Director General of Electricity Supply since 1997. During a City career, firstly, with Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt (Stock Jobbers) and then with Barclays Bank plc, Nicholas served as a Director and Chairman of LIFFE from 1992-1995 and Chairman of the Securities and Futures Authority from 1995-2001 whilst, at the same time, he served as a member of the Takeover Panel.
He is a member of council at the Brain and Spine Foundation and holds certain other non-executive directorships in financial services companies.
